Teach India

The Times of India has come up with a GREAT INITIATIVE called ‘Teach India‘. Teach India is a nation building initiative from the Times of India that brings together children in need of education and people who can contribute a little time towards teaching them.

Teach India

The Concept:

If a person is willing to teach, the Times of India help you connect to the children who are willing to learn.

How do you Apply?

The Times of India has establisehd partnerships with several NGOs in India. Anyone interested in participatin can visit the Teach India website at www.teach.timesofindia.com and register.

How does it work?

Once you are registered, you will be mapped to one of the NGOs based on the area preference and the time commitment. You are then asked to contact a NGO coordinator assigned to you. Once selected, you will be placed in one of the programmes, and after a basic orientation, your teaching sessions will begin.

What kind of education will you provide?

This campaign is about providing basic education to the undereducated and underprivileged children. This is achieved through a variety of programmes, including basic education, suppport classes and even story telling. These are all very easy to teach programmes in which simple topics have to be taught to children mostly at primary school level.

The teaching mode is either one-on-one or to small groups of children.

What about the Duration?

The program is designed for 3 months. If you wish to continue this great initiative, the same may be made possible by the NGO you are working with through mutual discussion.

It is only 2 hours a week.
