Best Free Online File Storage

We often come across the need to send huge files over the Internet or taking the backup of huge volumes of data. When it comes to sending huge files over the internet, we have only limited options. Sending the file through a messenger or sending it through an email.

The former is seldom used to achieve the purpose than the later. This is mainly due to the fact that both the sender and the receiver is expected to be online for the file transfer to successfully take place.

The later is to email. Certainly there are some many limitations this way. Limitations to the file size that you can send is the major among such issues. Even if you consider popular emails like Gmail, it only allows up to 20 MB. This is great, but, what if you want to upload a much bigger file? What if the site doesn’t respond? What if you are disconnected from the server due to some reason?

Uhhhh! There is an easier way to overcome these limitations. Thanks to the Internet. Thanks to Orbitfiles.

It’s been more than 4 years that I have been using Orbitfiles and since then, I have no complaint. It is always available when I need it the most. Very efficient and reliable. I’m not sure about the customer service. I never had to contact them. Moreover, I’m taking about their FREE File storage Plan.

Here are some of the reasons why you have to choose Orbitfiles over many other free file storage providers like Box, DriveHQ, Omnidrive, MyOtherDrive, and so on…

  1. Storage Limit: 6 GB. No other free file storage provider offers a better limit than this. Most of them either provide 1 GB or at the most 2 GB (with many terms)
  2. File Size: 50 MB
  3. Monthly Bandwidth: 10 GB
  4. File sharing: Yes
  5. Public Page: Yes. All the files marked as Public will be available through a link which can be accessed by everyone.
  6. Faster upload: Uploading files through web is a pain. Orbitfiles understands this and came up with a faster approach called Hercules Uploader. Install this, drag and drop the files to the server and uploading is never so easy.
  7. Backup: Yes
  8. Customer Support: Yes
  9. Referral Program: Yes. You get $0.10 for every referral you make.

@Witchypoo, Did you liked KeyWord Luv. Not many are taking advantage of it. I like it though.

@Nihar, as someone rightly said, necessity is the mother of Invention. I had no other option of backing my data few years ago. That’s when I found OrbitFiles.

Thanks Arun, I’m sure I’ll love it!

I gotta be honest here though, these storage sites are popping up as fast as social networks and frankly the whole premise scares me a little…

You definitely don’t want to store anything sensitive which means you will have files stored in multiple places anyway…isn’t that just more work?

My favorite online storage is Dropbox, due to it’s multi platform support. But the size is only 2GB.

@Dennis, you have a point here. Since I use only one, I really don’t have to manage them.

@Nazham, I knew about DropBox and as you rightly said, only 2 GB of space. So, I prefer Orbitfiles.

6GB is wonderful, but 50mb and 10gb limits. But still it is good, its better than many others of that kind… :)

Then where do you put “sensitive” stuff…please don’t say online.

@Pavan, you got the point! It’s better than any other free provider.

@Dennis, I never store any sensitive data in any portal. I use Orbitfiles, especially when I have to send huge volumes of data to someone else. Emails do not support this!

I will stick to gmail for online storage. It’s got 8gb right now.
