Yahoo! Mail’s new smarter Inbox
Yahoo! announced the limited beta launch of applications in Yahoo! and named it a Smarter Inbox. Some of the users have already started experiencing the Smarter Inbox.
What is Smarter Inbox?
The smarter inbox experience features a new Yahoo! Mail Welcome Page which surfaces messages, information and activity updates you care about most, as well as an updated inbox and folder view that filters messages from your personal connections.
The smarter Yahoo! Mail inbox also gives you immediate access to relevant third-party applications like Flickr, Flixster, etc. allowing you to do much more than just sending an email.
Here are some of the applications that are available in this Smarter Inbox.
- Flickr: share Flickr photos with friends and family right from your Yahoo! Inbox.
- Xoopit: see and share all the photos stored in email, including attachments and links to photo sharing sites, in one organized ‘photo view’ of the inbox.
- Flixster: share movie show times, trailers and reviews instantly from the inbox.
- Family Journal: build a family tree inside Yahoo! Mail and easily share with relatives.
- WordPress: post photos, links, and more from the inbox to a WordPress blog from Yahoo! Mail.
- Yahoo! Greetings and American Greetings: use the auto complete email address feature to send an ecard seamlessly from Yahoo! Mail.
As per Yahoo!, over 60% of attachments in Yahoo! mail are photos. Keeping this in view, they are bringing in the above Photo features on the new Yahoo! Mail. They are collaborating with Xoopit to make browsing and sharing photos from Yahoo! Mail easily. Xoopit is an application that allows you to browse through all your Photos and Videos from Flickr, Picasa, Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery and YouTube.
All the above said features of the new Yahoo! Mail are in limited Beta now. You can signup here to be on the wait list to experience the all new Yahoo! Mail.
