Ok let me first pick the applications I’ve already used or use.
1. Firefox (using)
2. Pidgin (using)
3. Thunderbird (used to but I don’t use any mail client now)
4. OpenOffice (have used on Linux, yet to try on Windows)
5. AbiWord (used on Linux, it rocks)
I think one is Gnumeric which is for Spreadsheet
Haven’t used it much but you can try it out.

I love open source software as long as it’s safe, security wise…I always look for those versions first, before paying.
